About

My name is Philippe Klemm and I work as an experimental physicist and research associate at the University of Regensburg, Germany.

My academic career started researching magnetism as a member of the Dirk Grundler Group at the University of Technology, Munich. Utilizing radio frequency absorption measurements I investigated ferromagnet-semiconductor hybrid structures and their behavior in magnetic and electric fields. I observed pure spin currents (Spintronic) as well as spin-precession damping induced temperature changes.

In December 2010 I switched to a different range of electromagnetic waves and a more interdisciplinary topic by joining the John Lupton Group at the University of Regensburg, Regensburg, Germany. In my ongoing PhD studies I use visible to near infrared spectroscopic methods on random structures. These studies can be roughly divided into two topics: On the one hand random metal surfaces and far field observation of plasmons (Plasmonics), on the other hand utilizing polymers and molecules embedded in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) for observation of spin-dependent effects (Polymerphysics).
